I was first contacted by Ann Marie of Rêve Events about a beautiful barn wedding taking place next October. I have to admit, the wedding sounded like dream! Filled to the brim with personal touches and rustic details, their wedding would take place at Ben's family farm in the rolling hills of Blue Mounds. Barn weddings hold a special place in my heart as I was married at a barn venue last May (man, time flies!) so instantly, I knew that I wanted to be a part of their day. From the second I spoke with them on the phone, I felt like we were the perfect fit. Ben and Liz have the rare ability to make you feel like old friends, and their engagement session was no exception.
Ben & Liz currently live in Chicago, but they wanted their engagement session to take place among the southern Wisconsin countryside where Ben is originally from. We started off at Brigham Park in Blue Mounds, a beautiful location that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Wisconsin River Valley. After a brief visit at Tyrol Basin, we stopped at the Helmenstine Farm, the location that they will soon be tying the knot. It was so great to see this old barn full of character and history and to be a part of their vision. I cannot wait to see the transformation for their big day! Lastly, we stopped at Hyde's Mill in Ridgeway, a historic landmark in the area. And no trip to Ridgeway would be complete without a stop to the local Hyde Store for an ice cold beverage! We talked and laughed like old friends do, and it was absolute perfection. I feel so blessed to get the opportunity to meet and work with such fun, adventurous, and creative people that inspire me to think outside the box.
Welcome to the blog, Ben & Liz!
